i know im not, so why does my instructor correct others' poses but not mine? yes, i sound like a petulant child...but i love yoga and want to improve with every session.

As an instructor that corrects students poses, these are my thoughts:
you are new to the class, and the teacher is waiting to see what you can/cannot do
or
it's possible the teacher thinks you should know what you need to do
or
your poses are relatively safe (your not perfect, but you aren't going to harm your body doing a pose in that way), so he/she is concentrating his/her efforts on other students
The last one is the most likely - but all you have to do is ask your teacher to help you with your poses more. Many teachers are afraid to correct too much. If you want lots of correction, look for an Iyengar yoga class.
