I'm 1 part geek, 1 part dork and 2 parts foodie. (Maybe throw in a pinch of hyper[bole] and crazy.) Weightloss has been an ever-present, ever procrastinated goal of mine. It is the smoking of my life. I lose, I gain, rinse, repeat.
I don't have much to lose (mayhaps a measly 15 or 20 lbs) but in my world it seems like running to the moon and back is easier.
...Diet control, uh, I have a long journey ahead to acquire the necessary tolerance and discipline.
Recently, my wonderful life partner and I got into a half-joking wager that I could lose my poundage before he could gain his. Of course, being the expert foodie I am, I feed him all the right fattening protein goodness to beat his roadrunner metabolism. He's been getting great results in his quest to build.
I, however, am the starving (not literally!) foodie who gets to torture myself via vicarious indulgence, because losing my weight is a slow, steady process which seems deprived at times. I'm the instant gratification sorts; so being discouraged comes easy in this line of work. Not to mention I spend all day at a desk.
So, to avoid the inevitable failure that looms around my such endeavours, I really, really need some good ol' fashioned butt-kicking from others.
Anyone up for the challenge?! I really need to stay on track.
What I can offer in return is an optimistic, energetic personality that is usually nice, barring the occasional bad day when the chips lovingly call out to me.

I'm a sporty geek. I have a great love of soccer and football, as well as Star Trek, Star Wars, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I'm doing C25K to play soccer again, as well as outrun the zombies when they rise up.
Unfortunately, I also love to bake. I've been able to adapt some, make do without others and enjoy the rest in small quantities.
