Too fast or what

I have lost 4 pounds this week. I don't get it. I eat a lot. I went over my calories last Thu-Sun because I went on vacation and had social plans where I didn't follow my diet the whole time. I have been working out 5 days per week 30 min cardio then weight training. I am just worried I will gain the weight back. This is the first time in my life I have consistently dieted and exercised. I don't want to do this and do it wrong. I started dieting Jan 29th and joined the gym Feb. 22nd.

Don't be surprised if a big part of the 4lbs is water weight, you may have been over on sodium etc and as soon as you clean up your act your body doesn't retain as much water. Another interesting thing about water weight is that burning 1800 cal of glycogen releases about a lb of water so if you've been exercising and limiting your carbs this could also be part of it.
Stick to your plan (slow and steady may not win the race but it crosses the finish line), weight loss is not linear.0 -
I wouldn't worry too much about it. All that worry is sure to put it right back on!
Sometimes going off plan is the best way to get your weight loss going again. When you get back on track, the weight seems to come off a little easier at first. If you were not eating like you normally do, you might have gained some water weight too.
I'd take it as a success! 4 pounds is huge! And only happening once, no big deal!0 -
Okay thanks. It has all come off fairly easily. I was just making sure I was doing it right. I'm trying really hard.0
