I eat bagel thins. They're not quite the same, but they do the trick.

I eat a bagel for breakfast practically every day. It's all good as long as it stays under your calorie limits, although I have to admit that there is a heck of a lot more calories in a bagel than I thought.

I love these things. And natural peanut butter. But if you need something to kill your sudden carb appetite, here's a trick I used to use with a friend of mine:

    BRUSSEL SPROUTS!

I relate to the bagel thing as well. the carbs are a real challenge for me. try a mini bagel with laughing cow cheese wedges. they are 35 calories a wedge.

Exactly! I've managed to drop about 55 pounds since starting my new lifestyle last summer, and I can honestly say I have not had to cut out *anything* I love - including bagels! I just stick to my calories and my macro levels. I run, so I shoot for 50%carbs, 30%protein, and 20% fat on most days. There's no reason a bagel and cream cheese can't be part of that occasionally - and I always recommend eating real food, not sodium-drenched processed/diet food!
  • i eat a bagel thin with fat free cream cheese and reduced sugar strawberry preserves with a side of knudsen cottage cheese and milk tea everyday. like 26 grms of protein and under 300 calories. keeps me full and satisfies my sweet, salty and carb cravings.

for several years all i ate for breakfast was asiago cheese bagels with extra cream cheese and since i found mfp and decided to get healthy i have dropped them completly now i make hubby and i either homemade egg mcmuffins , breakfast burritoes or just scrambled eggs with bacon and a little cheese and i dont miss my bagels at all and im feeling more full than i ever was and am having more energy too. i am severely insulin resistant so carbs are my nemisis but im learing to balance proteins with the carbs much better and feeling better .

i also make my own 'McDonalds' bagels with a weight watchers bagel, 2 eggs scrambled (but kindda cooked half way between scrambled egg and a omelette so it all holds together) and a low fat cheese slice which is 381cals but if im eating really healthy throughout the day i allow myself one xx
