Strength Training Question

I've been reading a lot about the benifits of strength training on here lately. I do not have a gym membership and I am one of those "cardio lovers." I run around 50 miles a month. I do it for more than weight loss. It eases stress, helps with my asthma, and some other things. After I run I also do about 20 minutes of "Insanity" workouts. I usually choose my favorites and do several reps. I do this so that my upper body and core aren't ignored (even though I know that running 7 miles at once is a full body workout). My legs are super toned, but I want to focus more on losing fat.
What are some strength exercises that I could do at home without having to buy a bunch of equipment. Is it going to be enough to build muscle and tone like I could if I were lifting heavy? Is Insanity considered strength training?
I'm 5'0 and weigh 128. (Size 6). I don't have far to go so I think that adding some strength training would be beneficial.
By the way, I must also mention that I am STILL in the overweight range. That is rediculous. A size 6 is not overweight.

Ok...no answers. Maybe if I just ask one question.
What is considered strength training?0 -
Well, if you're looking for exercises that require no equipment you could be working on core (planks, bridges, superman etc) and doing body weight strength such as pushups, squats, lunges.
If you're looking for minimal equipment you could look at some of the resistance band programs (different colours represent different amounts of tension) and you can do a pretty complete workout with something that you can take on vacation with you.0
