Help, in a contest!!

Ok, so I am in a 'Biggest Loser' challenge at my chiropractor. This has been going on for 11 weeks, and next weekend is the last weigh in.
They posted the results so far today for the first time, and I am in a three way [almost] tie with two other girls. We are all .5% apart! My trainer told me to make sure I am drinking a gallon of water a day, and eat mainly fish and asparagus for the next week since they are water soluble...then go back to my normal diet after the final weigh in.
Sort of a problem is that the two girls weigh 140 and 165...so although it may be harder for them to lose, I will have to double or triple that to match them, because I weigh 358. I've lost 25 lbs since I've started.
Does anyone have any other suggestions? The prize is an all-inclusive trip for two to the Caribbean!!

If it's done by % it shouldn't take you double or triple to match them, should it? Maybe I'm seeing it wrong but ....
a 10 lb loss for Miss 140lbs = 14%
a 10 lb loss for Miss 165lbs = 16.5%
BUT
a 10 lb loss for you, Miss 358lbs = 35.8%
... am I seeing it wrong?
This makes me feel extra blonde.
Should have seen me trying to figure out my heart rate settings for my new heart rate monitor that I got yesterday ... OY!0 -

You're seeing it wrong.
A 10% loss for Miss 140 lbs = 14 lbs.
A 10% loss for Miss 165 lbs = 16.5 lbs.
A 10% loss for Miss 358 lbs = 35.8 lbs.
That's considered a tie, even though Miss 358 lost more than twice as much as the other two.
Or, correcting the percentages for a constant 10 lb loss:
10 lb loss for Miss 140lbs = 7.1%
10 lb loss for Miss 165lbs = 6.1%
10 lb loss for you, Miss 358lbs = 2.9%0 -
add some organic unsweetened cranberry juice to your water (not a lot ) and start each day with hot water with squeeze of 1/4 of a lemon. These are steps from The Fat Flush Diet that I still enjoy doing.0

Congrats on losing 25 lbs! I"m participating in our community weight loss program and am currently in 1st place--well as of 2 weeks ago. The rankings haven't been updated since then. Our challenge ends the last week of April and between Easter and a weekend camping trip in April, I'm hoping I can maintain my rank! I have no idea what the prizes are for our challenge, but I wished it was a trip to the Caribbean!
If it was me, I would stick with protein (chicken or fish) and vegetables for the week with lots of water and minimal salt a couple of days before weigh in. What time of day do you weigh in? On my weigh in days, I can tell a substantial difference in the scales if I exercise that morning and eat/drink minimally.
Good luck to you!!0 -

I know, it's really confusing! I just took everyones loss and divided by weight to come up with the percentages...that's how I know how close we are. It's crazy!0 -

Thanks!! It's going to be next Saturday morning at 8 AM...I plan on rolling out of bed, throwing some clothes on and heading up before doing anything else.
The best part about it is - my hubs birthday is coming up, and we haven't been on a vacation without the kids in forever...this would be perfect.0 -
I was going to say drink lots of water up through the day before, then try to avoid eating or drinking much the day off to maximize your results. Not healthy, but okay for a day. Great job on the losses so far! Good luck!0

Thanks for the advice girlie! I was thinking the same thing...do you think I should exercise the day before? I read your post about sore muscles retaining water, that's why I am asking.0
