Most articles I've seen say that a waist above 35" indicates a risk for heart disease. As far as "ideal waists," it really depends on your body type (ecto-, meso-, endomorph) because everyone has a different "healthy" waist size.
The ideal waist to hip ratio is 0.8 if that helps?0 -
Everybody is different.
Were you ever thin? What was it then?0 -
No specific number, whatever is good for u! Whatever you're comfortable with.0

Really, all I want is for my waist to be smaller than my inseam...0

I think Dr Oz (ugh, I know) said the other day that it should be under half your height in inches.0
-
For women a waist size of 35 inches or less and a BMI between 18.5 and 24.90

It will vary wildly based on your build! I have a family member with a 32" waist; she weighs 35 lb LESS than I do at the same height and looks super skinny, while I look thicker...meanwhile, my waist is about 24". She's built like an H and I'm built like an X.0

The ideal is under 35 inches for women, I believe. For men it's a bit higher.0

Healthy waist size.......? I'd like to be able to see my waist before I reply and not laugh about it to myself. Hey I'm
finally getting the motivation and I laugh to cover the pain..hehehee0 -

under 35 isn't really "ideal" its just that size and below has lower health risks. I think you should figure out what clothes size you wanna be and work from there maybe. That's how I figured a healthy size for myself.0
