when you are doing strength training and your muscles are sore, do you strength train anyways or do another muscle group instead?

  • Keep exercising and take vitamin C to get rid of the lactic acid in your body!

If it's general soreness, yes, I absolutely continue with my schedule. I strength train three days a week and I usually feel much better after working the sore muscles again.

If it's overuse pain, I will avoid working that muscle group, however.

I power through it but it's a fine line. You don't want to train until you're so sore you can't workout.

It's most likely general soreness. Continue as planned.

Generally unless you're deficient, you won't notice much of a difference in taking vitamin supplements, regardless of whether you're doing so for muscle soreness or general health...

But as for your origianl question - like everyone else has said, push though.

    If you're sore, train anyway.
if you want to recover better, have more red meat in your diet, the amino acids, especially L-Lecuine
that is present in red meat, will definitely aid in muscle recovery. If not, just get BCAA supplement whether
in pill form or powder form, it will make you recover better

I box alot and on days when I box back to back (wednesday, thursday, friday) I am veyr sore on thursday adn friday but once you get started, you dont really feel it. My coach is very anti-injury and constantly asks me how I'm feeling. His number one advice to me is to listen to your body. Sore muscles are gonan happen but if you think you cant take it, listen to your body and take a step back.

great advice! I am back to it then! I have an iron deficiency but not sure if that matters. I have a supplement for that. So i think I will be fine.
