What will be in your Easter basket?

So, Easter is just around the corner, and tradition states that there should be lots of jelly beans, chocolates and other goodies in the Easter basket. I know that most of us probably don't get a basket ourselves, but our children may have one. It would be so easy to just have a jelly bean or two. But, for the health of our children, this is what I do. I limit the amount of candy for one thing. There may be some jelly beans and a few small chocolates, but the majority of the basket is filled with other items, like small memo pads, pencils and/or pens, cosmetics, anything that would be fun for your child. So, as you shop for the Easter baskets, watch for the neat little items, especially in the dollar stores. Enjoy your holiday!

    I don't like jelly beans but there better be Reese's Peanut Butter eggs and Dove dark chocolate. :)

    Good quality small solid dark or milk chocolate bunny (1 per child -- i have 4), socks, favorite style t-shirt, little crafty project, couple plastic eggs with jelly bellies, and a little knit chick or bunny in a knit easter egg (I'm a craft geek--been knitting eggs and chicks and bunnies all week).

    Dark chocolate salted caramels from Fran's would be nice - but I will be happy with tulips - much healthier!

    I'm not even worried about the basket that I am not getting. What I am worried about is the Easter brunch and the main meal. o_O

    I'm making dark chocolate, pecan & cranberry bark for my daughters and myself. Mmmmmm. Beyond that it is something needed for summer wear, and we dye eggs together to hide for the youngest.

    I'll be buying some fancy Belgian chocolates for my brood. They are in their 20ies, like quality treats, and will carry them out of the house and away from me as soon as the day is over. Costco sells some that are wrapped up fancy and not too expensive! Planning for a nice Easter ham with scalloped potatoes and a huge salad for supper.

    I always give them a new "Easter oufit", and of course we have an Easter egg hunt, but I mostly put money in them...they love money ~ who would have thought??...LOL

    I already had my Cadbury Egg. I have one each year. One year I waited until Easter weekend and my husband and I couldn't find one anywhere in town. So, I officially had Easter a couple of weeks ago!

    DVDs and/or DS games make great basket items too.

    Our baskets always have lots of dark chocolate, which everybody here likes, and most of it goes into the freezer to be doled out slowly.

    how does your pre diet (healthy lifestyle) easter basket compare to this year's?


    pre: lost of chocolate and reese eggs (fave!!) as well as snickers and m&m's

    now: jelly beans, gummy bears/fruit snacks. non food items! skinny cow!

    wait...im too old for an easter basket?! im pretty sure im getting one anyway and it will contain a shirt, a food scale, and a package of reeses peanut butter eggs which i will eat one a day or so when i need something sweet :) my brothers will probably be stuffed with candy though...just a guess.

    Our tradition is hiding the Easter baskets for our daughter. She is mentally handicapped, and has always enjoyed 'the hunt'. My other daughter (step) and grandson will be here with us for Easter, so will have a basket for each of them as well.

    I like the ideas posted here, too. Our Easter dinner will be grilled ribs, and whatever else I plan!

    I will get a Palmer 'Grandpa Bunny". My wife bought it and its on the floor of her closet. She thinks I can't see it, but she leaves the door open all the time.

    My mum usually gives me an easter box with some mini eggs or bunnies, a marzipan chocolate log (I love marzipan) and a few cute bits and bobs that aren't food related.

    We will be on vacation and actually won't do baskets. Decided to get the boys stuffed dogs from build a bear, minus the clothing, boys aren't into that. :)

    I already know I'm getting Cadbury Creme eggs. They are my favorite candy and have been since I was a kid. Don't get me wrong, I love a nice piece of really good dark chocolate but something about those Cadbury's...

    My kids usually get a basket that has a little candy, something related to an outdoor activities (last year was jump ropes and jacks), and something related to indoor activities (puzzles, pencils, etc).

    I've very proud of myself for walking past the peeps and buying none which means eating none! Even though there were peep chicks and peep bunnies..... I love those......

    My kid are getting swim themed Easter baskets with suits, flip flops, lip balm, etc...

    I think this year we might do a midnight easter egg hunt with glow sticks in the eggs and flashlights. Wake them up with a surprise in the night.

    I am pretty sure I am not getting anything and that is just fine with me. My whole family is staying at my house and most of us are on MFP. I was thinking of having a 'Build your own crepe" bar for brunch. Easy to count calories.

    Really, time with my family is the best gift I could get anyway.

    my kids arent so little anymore the ones at home are 12,13 and 15 so this yr my son is getting a football and a model airplane, the girls are getting lip gloss and fingernail polish and they are getting water bottles, pens, pencils, silly erasers, sticky notes, with some jelly beans and a little bit of chocolate, also they are each getting a new outfit
