New and looking for support

I have been lurking on the forums for the past week, soaking up all of the energy and excitement on the boards, and I figured it was time I actually introduced myself. It feels like I'm standing up in front of the class. :D

I'm 32 years old, and I hit the "breaking" point when my doctor sent me a letter that my cholesterol was "slightly elevated". It doesn't seem like such bad word, but just the week prior, I stepped on the doctor's scale to see that I was at my highest weight ever: 223lbs. It's amazing to me that even that wasn't enough... it took seeing my blood test report to really make it all click.

I can't believe I've let myself get to this point. And it's absolutely ALL my doing. I have no major health issues, aside from being VERY out of shape. So, the minute after I got that letter, I resolved that I'm going to start walking away from this unhealthy place I've found myself in and and move toward a healthier me.

I signed up for MFP the same day I got that letter. (I feel SO lucky that I found this place so quickly. The link to this website should be in every doctor's office!) I have been eating clean, and I just signed up for a 90 day challenge on the forums here. My next step is exercise, which I'm very nervous about because even walking feels like a challenge.

If anyone would like a friend or support partner, please feel free to add me. I know that support is the biggest key to success in any goal, and boy, do I need it. I'm tired of being the only one in my head who's telling me I can or can't do it. I have such a tendency to get down when things aren't proceeding the way I think they should be.

Thank you for listening, and best success to everyone. :) Every single person here is amazing for making any steps toward doing something healthy for themselves when it's so much easier to do nothing at all...

All the power to you! Time to make a change, for a better you, good luck. I am also dreading exercise but I think if we find ways to make it fun, or have a specific routine to follow it will be so much easier. You can do it! Time for a healthier new us!
