i just started p90x and am following the portion plan. (level I) i chose foods straight from the list in the book and the exact amounts and everything, yet when i add everything in im short calories. im also under on everything else. i know the first phase should be 50/30/20, so will this affect my results if im under?

What Level eating plan are you on? Have you gone in and customized your goals section? I

How many calories would you say you'd be taking in every day under Level 1? I'm doing P90X and I eat under Level 2. Do you take the recovery drink?
  • im on the level 1 eating plan.

today is actually my first day, (just finished clx last week) and im at 1743 cals today. i know this isnt drastically under, but my protein intake is. im still missing over 30 grams.

i am taking the recovery drink, but not the bars.

Can you give me an idea as to what an average day looks like for meal consumption?

You may just need to throw in an extra protein shake or have you tried Shakeology?

I also follow the protion plan but am currently on the Phase II, Level III plan which puts me at 3000 calories a day. I use this site to plan my daily meals before hand so I basically enter all the protions I need to consume, divided into their appropriate meals (breakfast, lunch, etc.). I then look at the totals at the bottom and make the necessary meal adjustments in order to get as close to my goals as possible. For example the other day after plugging in the meals I ended up surpassing my fat gram total by 10g. After looking over the meals I decided to replace the 2oz string cheese (double) snack with a 3/8 cup raisens (double) snack. This dropped my fat gram total by 12g. So even though they are both considered "double" snack portions in the guide when you enter them into your food diary you see how they affect your daily nutritional goals differently. I also adjust serving sizes to get me close to the goals as well. BTW, I too have a (2 scoop) protein shake daily that gets me an extra 53g of protein. It would be really difficult to hit my daily protein goal of 300g without it.
