bruise on heel bone

I bruised my heel bone a few years ago, quite badly. It took about 6 weeks to feel better at the time. It seems like since then, I can re bruise it again quite easily and I managed to do just that yesterday.

I'm trying to think of good things I can do to get in some form of cardio while it's healing up again. I don't have an exercise bike or access to a pool. I did the elliptical this morning and tried to stay mostly on my toes, but it's still killing me right now.

Any ideas?
