I am new here today! I signed up after seeing a work colleague using the site and I was quite impressed. I'm a 44 year old female, married with a young son and I work full-time. My weight and fitness have both been low priority for the past year as like many people we've struggled to earn a living, pay the bills and deal with all the other c**p that life throws at us.
I'm now at the top of the "overweight" bordering on "obese" for my height (I'm a shortie) and I have to act NOW! I've previously been a healthy weight and with a good-great fitness level. I'm very aware that my activity level is having a negative effect on my life, I actually love exercise! In my 20's to mid 30's I used to work full time in an office, teach 4 fitness classes per week, walk miles to and from work and then workout at the gym so my sedentary lifestyle now really isn't what I'm used to!
My aim is to lose 20lbs overall and exercise at least 3 times per week but aiming for 4. I'm semi-lactose intolerent which means I can stomach a little cheese & yogurt every few days but butter, milk, cream are serious no-no's.
I need to get both my blood pressure & cholesterol checked (which I'm doing next week) and I'll be starting my exercise from tomorrow with a brisk walk and maybe a little weights workout in the garden.
I'm really looking forward to getting to know some people here and sharing tips, recipes etc. I'm even more looking forward to ditching the "fat jeans" and the surplus fat hanging around my body and showing off a fitter, trimmer body! Bring it on!!!!!
Happy Saturday, positive thoughts and a pinch of luck to everybody on this journey

Hi!
You'll love it here as long as you don't let all of the egotistical cr*p & misinformation on the forums bother you. Some people really don't know what they are talking about & preach it as truth. Most people are more than willing to help & are genuine.
The tools here are great & the database is wonderful. However, I always double check if the nutritional info is correct either online our with package in hand.
Good Luck & Much Love!0
