I have found a way to help me get through trying to lose weight with an idea that my hubby appreciates also. I like to buy clothes a lot, to the point where about 70% of our closet is mine. So, what I have agreed to do is to buy only one thing when I reach a milestone, which is quite the struggle for a girl who has been deemed a shopaholic (ideeli boxes every other day, doesn't everyone do that?); once I meet my goal weight (125) it is free reign again. So far it is working. Before I joined MFP I was 158, so this week I was able to by something when I reached my 5lbs milestone (I'm now 151). My next milestone is reaching 145lbs, and I already picked out the item. ![ ](https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/resources/emoji/love.png)
Have any of you used a similar motivation technique?
