Well, Lent starts tomorrow so I am giving up chocolate! I think it will really help my weight loss too.

Anyone else giving up anything for Lent?

Lent is the time between Ash Wednesday and Easter. Some religions (I'm not sure is many besides Catholic do it) encourage their church goers to "give up" something during this time because of the sacrifices Jesus made for us during this time. I know alot of kids give up stuff like their favorite TV show or pop or candy. One year I gave up ice cream. I try to encourage my kids to try to do something nice for somebody everyweek during Lent.

I think I'm just going to make the commitment to exercise at least 5 days a week this year.

OK, I have never been good about lent. My grandma gives me a hard time about it. I am doing a detox that I have talked about before. I hope this can be credited to lent.
No dairy. gluten's, and eggs for 3-4 weeks.:flowerforyou:

BTW I think that getting your kids to do something nice for others is the GREATEST THING I HAVE HEARD FOR KIDS!!! Congrats you are a steller MOM!
As for Lent. I do not know what I will give up myself that I have not already given up.
    So the list reads.
Nothing fried. No soda, No sugar, As little processed food as possible.
No beef. (but that is only me, I do not like it anyway.)
Nothing made with white bleached flour. Only WHOLE WHEAT! So far so good.
But I have a huge baking day on V-Day for the office, so I might have to take a small break from this list for that one day. :blushing:

    I'm a Baptist, we don't observe Lent.
