This worked for me, it's a bit of a cliche...
I kept a bucket (large tupperware container) of sliced cucumber and carrots with me. At my desk and in the car to and from work. When I was home I would demolish 4+ servings of sugar free jello (10 cals / serving). I always had a large bowl (two boxes worth) waiting in the fridge for me. It was was savior at first.

I made a firm rule three meals a day no snacks. Then cut back on refined carbs, pasta, pop(regular and diet) sugar... so I get most of my carbs from fruit and veggies. After a couple of weeks I didn't crave the junk anymore. If I start to eat too much of the refined carbs the cravings come back.0

Keep a Men's Health Magazine in the car at all times to remind you of your goals. (I do the same with Women's Health lol) Also, if you need to go in and get something just get something like 10 cal Vitamin Water. It's sweet, but it's good for you. It helps curb cravings. Hope this helps.0

Water! Lots of water. And you don't drink it for flavor or pleasure, so get that part out of your mind. You drink it like you're working out. I picked up one of those water bottles that hikers use (get 'em at Target or Walmart for cheap) that has the ounces listed on the side. Fill it up in the morning and I swig either 8 ounces or 16 ounces at a time. Try to do it every 2-3 hours, including in the morning. At first, it made me have to pee a bunch, but my body got used to it in a couple of weeks. Once I hit 64 ounces in the day (or 4 to 8 swigs, depending on how much I drink each time), I notice I'm less hungry in the evening. The cravings should be minimized at least until you start watching TV at night, if you're anything like me. But then it's psychological hunger at that point (being used to snacking to your favorite show and needing to break the habit). I had to curb my TV/movie watching and that helped a bunch.
I also do fiber in the morning and at night. And a jog if the craving is driving me crazy... cardio work-out seems to make me less hungry.
And I have my favorite junk food on a Friday or Saturday night as a reward, I just get smaller bags or servings than I used to. It's a great reward to look forward to after a week of working hard.
Give these a shot and they'll help. But the thing to remember is that you're not just retraining your body, you're retraining your mind. And that's hard. Attack it like a challenging project and I think you'll find the strength and the activities that help you push through.

Just ask yourself if eating that stuff is worth giving up all the progress you've made or the progress you're going to make this week/month/year.
Sure, you can have a cheat meal every once in a while, but limit yourself. Self control is the name of the game.
Eventually, you don't even want that crap food anymore.
EDIT: not a man, but not every female craving is hormone-related either...0 -
We're talking about food cravings right?
(you can never be too sure)0 -
Since a lot of my days are preplanned, I usually know whether I can fit in any junk food. Solution: Pre-plan your meals for the day. If you can fit in a glazed donut or doritos or whatever you crave, then go for it. But, if you have set your day, just knowing it won't fit is a great way to keep from eating it.0

The Fiber One Brownies are a great treat. My husband has one with his lunch during the week. He wants something sweet when he heads back to work and this worked for him.
If it's sugar you crave, try snacking on things like carrots and red peppers. For salt I grab almonds. If I'm craving chips... Popchips are 22 chips for 120 calories and the snack bags of them are 100 calories.
other snacks we have in case we want something... no sugar added fudgesicles and sugar free pudding.0 -
Honestly, I'm a firm believer in little cheats. If you can manage to keep them little.
I buy what I have a craving for and throw a large part of it away...far away...in a dumpster
I don't have access to normally..0 -
Get an electric car so you do not stop at the gas stations. Alrighty seriously keep healthy snacks available. I keep a few granola bars in my glove box. Water and more water, if you really need a snack look for the healthy options {vegtable/fruit cups}. If you are really worried about product placement can you pay at the pump?0

Ok, I think I am the only one who gets where you are coming from, WATER, Veggies? NO WAY. The only thing that cures cravings are to have the things you crave, but just do it in a smart way. Skinny Cow Ice cream bars/sandwiches, 100 calorie packs, fruit with splenda, Yogurt with PB2 , Do not go without or you will give in sooner or later to the evils of LITTLE DEBBY or HOSTESS, if you want somthing crunchy, I get the Snyders of Hanover niblets and count out a serving or two and put them in a plastic bag , My advice to you is keep a small stash of good snacks in the car to keep you out of the store. Snacking is important at least for me. Good luck my friend.0

You are throwing away hundreds of dollars a year on snacks. Is it worth it?0
