Facebook vent

We live in the UK, all of our family lives in the states. We found on facebook today that a family member of ours had been in a car accident a couple of days ago and just got taken off the ventilator and still has a brain bleed. I can't believe this crap! We ask about people, we keep in touch with people, we care! No one tells us anything unless we specifically ask about it. Just frustrating and breaks my heart. :-(

That is terrible. It's amazing that their facebook friends knew before your family. Condolences. :frown:
  • Sorry to hear about your family member, hope they will be ok. I so have been through this myself. It really frustrates me to hear about a serious family issue on Facebook, by chance instead of being told direct. The only thing i can think of sometimes people are freaking out because of the situation and just put the message out there in one place, hoping everyone will know whats going on.

Hopefully it was just one of those situations where everybody thought a different family member let you know.
I am sorry for your loss, and for the way you found out.

Our family member is alive, but is almost certain to have suffered brain damage. She's so young! She also lost her adored dog in the accident as well. That dog was like a child to her, she's going to be so heartbroken when she finds out or even remembers, who's know with her injuries. I usually try to be a very positive person but people suck sometimes! I'm just very upset and there's nothing we can do.
