Ok, Ive been at this for about 8 weeks (this time) started at 238 and was losing like crazy at first. Down to 216.8 and only dropping about 1 to 1.5lbs a week now. MFP has my goal at 1380calories I exercise between 200-500 calories a day (with HRM) 4-5days a week. I eat make most my exercise calories. I lose nothing unless I exercise enough and eat back.

my BMR is 1,750

At my weight (216.8) and hight (5'7) I feel like I could be losing more than a pound a week without a problem. What do you think, should I be happy with my 1lb a week or try upping my calories or changing up my eating back.

Let me know what you think!

I think you should definitely be happy with one pound a week. I try to remember that a) our bodies go through cycles b) the slower it comes off the more likely you are to keep it off.

I would only change something if you stop losing and stay the same or gain, then jump start by changing something, but one pound a week to me would be fantastic!
  • Hi, hope you don't mind but I did take a quick look @ your diet.

I can make dietary suggestions that have helped me in the past and present

I would suggest moving to a more veggie diet - meaning more fresh, raw greens - salads that consist of leafy greens, baby greens
tomatos, cucumbers, carrots, celery, peppers, legumes, nuts ...

Try to keep meat proteins to regulated and healthful portions ( generally the size of the palm of your hand )

Substitute your sweet cereals with fresh juiced fruits like - pineapple, strawberries, cantaloupe, carrots
You can use these fresh juices as snacks as well.

Whilst on your diet move toward low and non fat substitutions and healthy oils - when you reach your desired goal you can slowly and carefully move back to saturated fats like butter.

If you wish you can look @ my diet diary - I joined Jenny Craig for 1 month and am currently in transition to controlling my own diet. ( I simply could not afford it anymore ), I am using Lean Cuisine and other portion controlled 'foods' to slowly get back to feeding myself.

So now I am juicing like a fiend and wonder why oh why did I not do this sooner !

Hope this helps and I didn't step on your 'toes'
