so excited

I love MFP. My doc introduced this to me a week and go an told me to try it. So 3 days ago I got on here and registered and logged in and I have lost 3 lbs in 3 days....OVERWHELMED with excitement. Gonna love this journey I do believe. I can do this !!!! I have a lot to lose, like 100+ lbs, but not gonna focus on that gonna focus on small baby steps and 5lbs a month that my doc recommended me to lose. If you have any pointers for me or food ideas that are low in calories I would really appreciate if you would pass them on to me

    Welcome and congrats on the weight loss you've already accomplished.

    I don't have many pointers but they are: remember to drink at least the recommended amount of water a day, make sure to eat enough food to fuel your body, don't get too upset if you end up messing up a day on your calories, take advice willingly but do your research before you actively do what has been given as advice, and of course find something that is fun to do for your exercise.

    If I could go back and start it all over I so WOULD!!!..... Honestly I almost envy you just starting out

    Here are the things I would change and do from day one if I could....

    First, MEASURE everything.... hips, waist bust, arms, wrists, ankles, knees, thighs, calves, FEET, around your HEAD..... I mean everything..... I so wish I had taken measurements....

    Moisturize daily.... give your skin every chance you can to tighten up and look better.... also moisturizing really does keep you hydrated and that helps with your water intake and digestion.... every little bit helps....

    MOVE constantly.... keep music going and a beat in your head.... check out isometric exercises..... they are amazing.....I can't believe the difference they make and I can only imagine how great it would have been to have known about them when I first started.

    Eat healthier not less.... really listen to your body and how it reacts to foods that you eat, learn which foods give you energy and leave you feeling clear headed and alert, and which ones leave you feeling irritable and sluggish later on.....chances are the ones that are making you feel sluggish and cranky are the ones that are causing the other problems as well....Give yourself lots of healthy choices and learn to love them.....

    and really really really drink your water :)
