I had to buy a second pair of 3lb weights for doing 30DS(this one to keep at my fiancee's house for when I'm there over the weekends) and thus I went to ****'s Sporting goods. Now, I knew what I was looking for so it wasn't a problem this time but their fitness sections has SO MUCH stuff and I don't know what a lot of it is used for.

My latest confusion are weight vests, weighted gloves, wrist and ankle weights..... What purpose do they serve?

Also when and how are kettle bells better then regular dumbells?

And how do resistance bands work?

weighted gloves and vests are good for doing something where you can't have weights in your hands. like we would use ankle and wrists weights in karate sometimes. Doing the movement as fast as you can control with higher weight helped you improve speed in your punches and kicks when you remove the weight. I would guess a weighted vest could be used to add more weight to any traditionally body weight exercise

Kettle bells are good for different movements then dumbells, the weight is in a different place so the center of balance is different.

Resistance bands you attach handles to the bands and then they provide resistance when you try to pull them. Can simulate cable exercises from a home gym with them for one example

Oh! Thought of another one, what are sauna suits and waist trimming belts that make you sweat supposed to do? Is the extra sweating doing anything other than making you feel gross?

The sauna suits and waist trimming belts may make you sweat out a little water weight temporarily but they don't actually help you burn off fat.
