I typically do challenges on MapMyRun.com but they are not doing one right now. So I Googled and found a challenge (on Virginia Commonwealth University's website) that I wanted to present to the MFP community:
Choose Your Own Cardio Challenge (CCC)
It's all up to you! Choose which type of Cardio you would like to complete for the 5 week time period. If you finish one early, you can choose another!
(My spin: People are more successful when they focus on one goal at a time BUT If you want to do more than one Cardio Challenge at a time then BRING IT!)
Choose from:
Running/Walking: 75 miles
Cycling: 150 miles
Rowing: 75,000 meters
Swimming: 700 lengths
Elliptical: 100 miles
MFPs If you are game, COMMIT by posting choice(s) of cardio. REPORT weekly distances to forum or as they are accomplished.
Registration runs: ongoing (but you do not get to make up the weeks lost)
Challenge runs: Monday, April 2nd – Sunday, May 6 (Five weeks)
StayFITTer's Goal: Running 75 miles and Swimming 700 lengths by Sunday, May 6th

Put me down for 75 miles walking/running.
At work our "wellness team" has put together a pedometer challenge that begins on the 16th of April. 50,000 steps/week for 6 weeks is the goal. That will certainly help with meeting this challenge too!0 -

Typically you can report back one of two ways:
1) Weekly on Sunday because Monday marks the beginning of a new week.
OR
2) As you Chip Away At Your Cardio Challenge: So if you do a mile, let the forum know as well as how much further you have to go to reach you goal. You can also let us know your game plan for the week.
The second option seems to be more encouraging to other members as well as hold you more accountable.0
