Biking burns how many calories?!

I have been biking a little bit lately and entering the small times in MFP. But the number of calories burned it tells me seems too good to be true. The number is a lot higher than when I run, but I don't feel like I am working harder. Without having to purchase expensive devices to tell me how much I've burned, is there a way to tell if MFP is accurate, and if not, exactly how off it is?
