ETA: I have to confess: None of these was very recent, but all were among the best books I've ever read, and I still think of all of them frequently.

    i read about 3 novels a week and these have been my top picks since I got my Kindle for Yule. So these are the best books I've read this year

    The Book Thief was amazing, but it gave me nightmares!

    I'll give you my favorite that I read in the last year:

    1. Les Miserables
    2. Harry Potter (I know it's seven books, but it's all one big story, so I'm counting it as one, though books 5 and 7 were my favorites)
