It seems to me to that ever since I turned about 17 I started to get these "love handles" unfortunately mine have been loving me too much and growing with time - I'm going to be 33 in June. I decided 2012 was the year to get serious about my health and fitness, I started MFP last month and have been able to track my eating patterns (the good and bad) and walking and jogging (a little). I happily completed my 5.6K run/walk in February in under an hour - I've never ever been a jogger/runner, but am slowly getting there. My major gripe however is these love handles! Part of it might be a function of part-indian descent but they've got to go or at least be seriously reduced. I welcome any suggestions. Thanks!

You may not be able to target fat loss, but back and side toning exercises help. Side bends (I use weights but you don't have to) and bent over rowing can help to tone the back muscles. I slimmed up my sides and love handles by doing side bends. I'd hold a 20 lb container of cat litter on each side and stand in front of the TV and go to town.

Thanks. I used to do side bends but found myself bored after a while, guess I'll have to find a way to make it more interesting.
