I've found it's best if you enter it in as the type of training. If you're jumping around and moving the whole time, it's probably closer to aerobic. If you're switching between strength and cardio, it's like circuit training. I use circuit training for the 30 day shred and from what I've been able to gather, it's pretty close on the calories burned. I give myself a 50 calorie buffer that I don't eat just in case. I hope that makes sense!

This explains what it is (if you don't already know):

Polar f6...or a pro-forn precision xt.... both are good. you can get them cheaper on buy.com, ebay and woot.com

I bought mine off of buy.com for only 30ish bucks. Here's the link:

My exercises are completely different now. The exercise machines are completely wrong and the exercise calculators aren't accurate either. I really enjoy exercising since I got my HRM bc now i know how many cals I'm burning.

Im doing that one too. If your doing the "lose up to 20 pounds in 30 days " I think you burn 331 calories.

Its hard for any one person to give you that answer. Calories burned are not the same for each and every person. The more you weigh the more calories you burn. I for example, am doing the 30 day shred. I weight 120 and for phase 1 I am burning 195 calories. If you want a precise number for you, you will need to get a HRM. I found one 60% off at my local sporting goods store. So I only paid $49 dollars. Not too bad.

Thank you so much everyone! These posts really helped. I was doing what tron3002 suggested and wanted to double check and make sure that would be the best way. I have a Polar HRM that I paid about $50 for but it doesn't count calories burned. Wish I would have known that before I bought it. I'll look into another HRM and maybe sell my Polar one on eBay. Thanks again so much and best of luck to all of you! We'll reach our goals together, one pound at a time!!!!
