Strange veggies and how to prepare
So we all know the usual stuff - but what is a veggie that you love that is a little "odd" to some. You know, the type of veggie that the checkout girl has asked you what it is, or what it tastes like at least once?

Mine: Rutabaga.
Looks Like: A large turnip. Usually waxed, and very ugly looking
How to prepare: Peel completely, including the visible layer under the skin. This part is bitter. Boil or steam untill you can stick a fork in it, or my favorite is to cook along with a pot roast in place of potatoes.
How it tastes: NOT like a potato! It's got the texture of a well cooked carrot, with a nice sharp flavour.
I like these because of the taste, and it's lower cal then a potato.
