Exercise and weight gain

Hello,
I've had the strangest experience. I joined a local fitness studio in the last week of October 2011s. Gradually I increased my fitness level so I am now working out an hour a day, 6 days a week and at a fairly high intensity. I do power yoga twice a week, body pump twice a week, circuit training once a week and I run on a treadmill for about half an hour on Saturdays. I've lost about an inch everywhere but today I weighed myself and was very upset to discover I've gained 10 pounds. Thats a 15 pound gain from the time I started using this site in Aug 2010. What's going on? Could it be some kind of hormonal disorder?
Oh I'm 34 and female.

I experienced the same exact thing! I realized that my problem was a balance issue.
Worked out often and eating too much. Not logging my food appropriately. I became so hungry from all of the exercise, that I was eating constantly. I would have had to track non stop because I was eating every few minutes.
To combat the problem, I took 2 weeks off from exercise, and cut back on my food consumption. I lost 8 lbs.
Now, I do 4-5 days of 1 hour, ea. exercise eating only what calories are figured for me, and choosing quality instead of quantity. I'm losing consistently now that way.
Hope this will help you.0 -

Nailed it.
When I first started distance running I got hungry. As in eat-a-whole-pan-of-stouffers-lasagna-alone hungry. While you may not be as much of a glutton as I was, it can be easy to overestimate what you burn and underestimate what you eat. Carefully track the amount and TYPE of calories you're getting. Up your protein and water to feel fuller.0
