what's the skinny on carbs before working out....?

I'm not talking about running a marathon.... i'm talking about an hour or so of either strength or circuit training...

EDIT: i typically eat dinner around 7:00pm and do my workout around 9:30-10pm...

I would recommend that you experiment with this and let personal preference dictate.0

That's pretty close to my evening schedule as far as meal time vs when I head out to work out. I find that since its a full meal, I need that time for it to digest enough to work out without feeling full, but close enough that it's still enough to fuel the workout.
So I, personally, wouldn't eat anything additional after your dinner. But if you feel too weak during your workout, maybe just a little, small snack will help.0 -
For a heavy cardio session, I find it helps. For strength training, not so much.
A piece of fruit I find gives me enough carbs and sugar to fuel a workout well.0
