sleeping and metabolism

Does sleeping lower metabolism? Do you negate some of the befit if you work out before bed? Do naps throw off your metabolism during the day?

    Short answer to all, no.

    You will burn fewer calories while asleep than if you were awake, but that should be pretty obvious. Anything that can keep your heart rate up will result in more calories burned. Other than that, it doesn't matter when you sleep so long as you're not doing it excessively overall.
