The alcohol and food should be out of your system within 72 hours. Anything beyond that is psychological.
Edit: It may cause you to store more fat, but at that point they no longer resemble anything like the alcohol and bad food they once were. In that case, standard diet and exercise will be just as effective as lemons.0 -

I have never done it as a detox cause Dr Oz does not believe in them and I am a fan of his. BUT I drink 16 oz of water every morning with greens and 2 tablespoons of lemon.....the lemon is a natural way of fighting cancer.
Take care of yourself cause we get older too fast

I don't mean feeling groggy because of a particular time drinking alcohol. I mean just in general because of my college lifestyle i would like to try a detox.
Hopefully i explained myself better that time.0 -

^^This. I believe most of the detox stuff going on is just some kind of ritualistic/psychological fad.0 -
My sister has done it, it's really not worth it. She got sick 12 hours after starting it, and really...What will happen is you'll get all gunked up with food and what have you anyways. So just drink plenty of water, include a good amount of protein, fibre and good food in your diet and you're set!0

I did the lemon detox diet for 10 days last year and it helped me out of a rut. I had gotten to a point where I wasn't losing any more weight so thought I would try it to kick start the weight loss again and it worked. I lost about 3-4 kgs on it although how much of that was water weight I don't know.
There are a couple of options for doing it but I found the full detox ok - you do actually feel full and don't need anything else. It was more about just being sick of the lemon flavour after ten days - I wanted to taste something different. If you do do it, I would highly recommend using the teas and freshly squeezed juices to add a bit of variety to your day.
Saying that, I probably wouldn't do it again, but thought it was good for what it achieved for me!0 -
Thanks for the advice!0
