Hello everyone! I joined MFP a week ago and this time it's going to happen.
My story: I am a 55 year old female, I'm an RN and I live in Chesapeake, VA. I have been on and off WW for 3 years and it never worked for me. I'd lose about 4 lbs and and then gain 8. I had some extreme stress (mostly with my job) starting about 3 years ago. I weighed about 130, and while that weight was really OK, I wanted to be about 120 when I thought I looked good (I was too skinny...LOL). The stress caused my cortisol level to shoot through the roof and to make a long story short, I gained 30 lbs in a year....mostly around my middle section. I have not been able to take it off...been YoYo'ing back and forth. Now the old job is gone, got a great new job and life is good now so it's time. When I started a week ago, I was 159. My goal is 129.
My inspiration is probably silly to men, but the visualization is working for me. I don't know if you have heard of Polyvore.com but it's a social site for fashion creativity. Some of the outfits and fashion I have seen are just amazing. I have gone through and picked some outfits I love and I "see" myself in them. Everyday I pick a new outfit to "wear" for the day.
It's been enough inspiration to get me back on the elliptical and I'm up to 25 minutes a day.
It's going to happen!
