Is that true? I thought I have read that somewhere. I lost a few pounds, but have gained a couple back since last week. I have been under my calorie goal all last week, somedays WAY under. Will that lead to GAIN???

Yes, if you eat too little you can hold onto weight.

Eating less doesn't always mean higher losses. Your body needs a minimum amount of calories to sustain itself. The smaller you are the less deficit you can maintain.

Yes, unfortunately it is. I was eating around 500 cals below my BMR and gained. Here is a great thread about it.

Also, you can go here, start with the military calculator and get the true number of calories you should be eating. The number they gave me is freak out high...I can't do it right now but I need to get there.

    I hope this helps you!

Not 500 below BMR, below my MFP deficit. Sorry.

From what I understand if you're not eating enough you may still lose weight, but slowly. And the bigger problem will be when you reach your goal and switch to maintenance. Your body will be so used to not getting enough "fuel" it will hold onto as much as it can to keep you alive. So when you switch over to maintenance for the first few weeks you may gain as your body has been "starving" and it wants to prepare itself for the next "famine".

I'm no expert though, and I could very well be wrong. I've upped my calories and eat back some/most of my exercise calories and haven't really had any problems losing (except recently, but that's because I've added a ton of alcohol to my diet and I've been pretty lazy lol).
