, if you consume less and burn more you will lose weight. The Choices of what you eat are where there is room for negotiating.
have you done the math yet?

Instead of watching what you eat try to just log everything for a few days-- hindsight being 20-20, you can then go back and look at what things you can exchange for healthy items, or smaller portions or leave out all together....
when I decide I am going to eat chocolate, I either have to walk more, or eat less...

I quit smoking after 35 years and I have MS, for me it was a matter of gaining control over the things I could..
I cannot control MS, but I can control the smoking or quitting and I can control what things I put in my body...

It is a marathon not a sprint.... so it takes time to figure out what you want and why you want it....
EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT FOR A REASON.. but you can choose how you look.... what you eat and how healthy you are....

PLEASE don't give up hon.... it's so hard in the beginning... YOU need to know that it will get easier and when the weight does start coming off you will feel so much better. Yes we are all different, but we all need to take better care of our bodies, and that means exercise and a balanced diet. We didn't get this way overnight, and it takes time and discipline to make the neccessary changes. I'm 47 years old and have been obese most of my life.. MFP has saved my life... I don't know what I would do without all the wonderful support of my MFP friends.... If you need a friend please don't hesitate to add me... I didn't have much faith in myself either, and after only 3 months I've lost 57 pounds.. with a lot more to go! I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel!
  • Hang in there. I truly believe that we all start to get down on ourselves when we do not see the results we expect when we think that we should see them. Hang in there and push through the what if's and the I can'ts otherwise you'll be back at square one.

Don't give up! I myself am off to a slow start but I refuse to quit. It will start to happen for me and it will for you too. Just give it time.

Each day is a new opportunity to begin again. If you flub a day, get right back on it the next day. Sometimes goofing off confuses your body, so eating less the next day will work out great. I am making slooooow progress, but I am going to keep at it. I am eating less than I used to, so the weight will have to come off some time! MFP is helping me to stop eating when I have had enough for the day. I used to just keep eating because it tasted good, but now I know that my allotment of calories is enough, and I am not really very hungry when I have had it all. So far, I have lost 4 pounds, I wish it was more, but I will have to be patient. Health issues mean I can do some exercise, but not as much as the young folks around here do. So, since I can't burn as much, I have to eat less, burn what I can, and be patient. So, how about if you and I stick with it, and when we think it is too hard, just give it another day. Then another. Then....well, you know:flowerforyou:
