It was my birthday this weekend (23 - I know this is total college frat boy behavior lol)
and drunk me went wayyyy overboard with the free drinks on Saturday, and Sunday I was hungover and all I craved was Taco Bell and Dominos, etc.

These situations don't happen that often (usually a couple of holidays, reunions, and the birthday), but I've been so good this past year and especially the last six weeks so I'm pretty unhappy with my inebriated decisions in hindsight.
I at least mostly stuck to vodka sodas (about 70 calories a drink), but I went way, way over. A Whole Cheat Weekend instead of a once a week cheat meal!

Any tips for maintaining a little more self control/balance on special occasions? I think I wouldn't have gotten so drunk if I had eaten something more substantial for dinner, but of course sober me was trying to watch my calories... and next day hung over me just reverted to my college living choices...

How often do you drink, generally, even if it's just 1 drink?

When I first started this whole weight loss thing, I went from drinking at least 1 drink daily to cold-turkey for 3 weeks. Once that time was over I found that a)I didn't drink as much and 2)when I DID drink, I drank a lot less.

For me the key has just been cutting out alcohol in general, so when I DO drink, I don't over indulge. That's been the biggest help.

In college i used to drink a lot, three times a week probably, and quite a bit.

I've been out of school for about a year now, and drink once a week, its just usually 2 - 4 drinks with friends, which is manageable with my new found vodka sodas and NOT margaritas...oh man...

but you're right. This was unusual..just so discouraging when I logged the calories I suspect I consumed...

gotta get back to being a light weight! (literally!)
