Can you "make-up" your exercise the next day?

Tonight I celebrated my birthday with family. I went over my calories by 450 (darn alcohol). I didn't exercise today and I am wondering if I do twice my normal amount of exercise tomorrow, can I make up for what I didn't do today (in terms of calories in/calories out)?

First HAPPY BIRTHDAY! A slip every so often is not the end of the world. Oh man am I a hypocrite!
Even as I am typing this I am angry with myself for doing the same thing. I try to make up the difference throughout the week. Like if you can eat 2000 calories a day multiply it by 7. Then subtract
your calorie slip and divide by 6. Thats the calorie intake I shoot for the rest of the week.
And yes you can make up the exercise, too. But that can lead down a very bad path (that I have been on)
