Goals and do you meet them

Curious what everyone's excercise goals are and if they meet them. How many days a week do have your goals set to and how much per day. Do you ever meet them? Does the calculation of weight loss match what you have lost?

Mine are simple. Walk every break at work Mon-Fri. This equates to (2) 10 minute walks and (1) 1/2 hour (half my lunch) walks. Evening cardio of some kind any 5 or 6 days a week. This can include walking, calisthenics, Zumba (which I ADORE), jogging, etc. At least 20 minutes, but preferably 45 to 60 minutes. Also, 3 to 4 days per week lifting, 3 sets of 10 to 15 reps on 3 exercises for triceps one night and the same for biceps the next night. This isn’t heavy lifting (which I greatly dislike), but challenging enough for me to feel a good burn in my muscles.

I generally meet my goals, but there are weeks that I miss a day or two of cardio or lifting, especially if it’s freezing balls out in the garage!! My weight loss expectation has been generally met, with 73 lbs down in 12 months. I wanted to lose 100 lbs by now, but I’ve become a little more realistic as far as my goals, my body’s ability to adapt, and my schedule. If I hit goal by July/August (another 27 lbs), I’ll be a happy girl.

Goals: Stick to the MFP calorie allowance, exercise 4+ days a week, make healthy food choices.

I have hit my weight goal (though I adjusted it again for training purposes). I hit my goals.

The key to success here is to stick to the plan. Set MFP for 1 lb/wk weight loss and aim to come in below your allowance every day except one. On that one day, don't go crazy, but you can go over.

Find things to do that you enjoy--spinning, zumba, p90x, cycling, running, whatever it is, just find something you really like to do and do it.

    Good luck.

My goal is to exercise 5 to 7 days per week for at least 30 minutes a day. I tend to do more than that... Usually do 45 minutes per day Monday through Friday. My time on the weekends varies - sometimes I'll do 1-2 hours of walking/running both days, sometimes I'll take one of those days off, sometimes both. All depends on what's going on and how I feel.

I'm not sure I understand your last question correctly... MFP doesn't include your exercise goal in with your calorie allotment so it doesn't have anything to do with your weight loss goal (as far as the math goes anyway). The deficit they set for weight loss only factors in your BMR, activity level and weight loss goal. This way folks who can't exercise can still lose the weight.

My goals are set to 20min a day 7 days a week. I always get at least that because I have to walk my dog in the morning no matter what, and we always walk at least 20min. Lately though I have been getting 1-2 hours most days. I have been stuck for the last 3 months almost, my weight simply won't change. Grrrrrrrrrr!
