Hi,

I was curious to all the people that actually like to EAT and EXERCISE-- How long did it take before you started losing weight steadily? I upped mine to about 1800-1900 and am very active at home and at work so I was wondering if anyone thought maybe I should up that closer to 2000+ to see faster weight loss? I've been at the 1800 range for one month and did lose but only like half a pound at the end of the month. Any advice is appreciated! :flowerforyou:

Last year I started around June 13th both dieting and strength training. I really started to notice a big difference about a month later. I was doing full body workouts 3x a week at the time, and eating a 1000 calorie deficit under my TDEE. I wasn't even really eating that healthy as food type doesn't matter for weight loss. Also I was lifting heavy in the gym and eating 1g of protein per lb of LBM to retain as much LBM as possible while dieting.

I saw weight loss the first week. I lost pretty steadily for about 3 months. Then it was a lot slower to lose the last 5 lbs or so. I ate at about 1200 calories a day, more sometimes on exercise days. I also wasn't worried about splurging or going out to eat. I've lost about 23 lbs and am now at 3 lbs away from my goal.

Edited to add: I also exercised about 5-6 days per week the first 2-3 months. I did either Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred DVD, the elliptical, Bowflex TreadClimber, run/jog outside, or my own strength training work out. Now I occasionally work out but am going to start running regularly again.
