I just got a nice big bunch of young kale from my CSA farmer, roots and all. I put them in water when I got home (about an hour and a half after they were picked) and they are wilting. Any suggestions? I cut the stems on a few and put those directly in water, but that does not seem to be helping either.

Anything I can do to revive them, and if not is it ok to wash and freeze them so I can at least use later what I don't eat tonight?

Thanks!

I store my kale in a plastic produce bag in the fridge and it keeps for close to a week if I don't use it.

bake them! Kale chips are awesome. Pull them away from their stems into little chip size pieces mix with a little olive oil and spices you like. I personally did garlic powder, onion powder, and ceyenne pepper. Lay flat on cookie sheet and cook 350 for 12 minutes or little less. Oh so yummy! They don't make a lot cause they shrink big time but it is worth a great snack.

I did this with a batch when I got home... it's young kale, so it baked up REALLY thin. It was very yummy though!
