Primal Instincts?!

I added the instincts part, just sounds like it goes together.

Hello,

I am once again, starting my journey with mfp. Was wondering if anybody has done/or is doing a low-carb diet? I would really like to consider a low-carb, low-sugar diet.

I have really high cholesterol and have been told that eliminating grains will help me lower my cholesterol, but instead of filling up on red meat and egg yolks that I should eat good vegies and poultry/lean cut meat in moderation (6oz a day at most).

Has anybody had success with this type of diet? Any tips/tricks/websites/recipes?!

Thank you all in advance for you insights!
Feel free to add me/message me :)

-Kayla :)

A friend of mine tried the zone diet and did well. I have a hard time with very restrictive diets. I want something I can do for the rest of my life. Others I know did South Beach. What did your doctor suggest? Food.com has a wide range of ideas on it. May want to look there.

Soluble fiber is known to help lower cholesterol levels. Just a thought.

oatmeal is supposed to help, lean meats and fish, baby mix greens salad is a good way to get your dark greens in. Saw you were a college student so trying to think on lines that you maybe able to do if not still at home and going.

I'd ask your doctor and see what they recommend as to what diet plan to follow. Google the american heart association diet. Web MD and Mayo Clinic may have some ideas as well.
