My friend at work has a recipe for some sort of banana bread that you make in a crockpot. It calls for a stick of butter and a cup of sugar. She isn't super healthy, but she tries to cut down where possible. Any suggestions on substituition or how to cut down the butter and sugar? I know I've heard of using applesauce in place of oil/butter, but does that also replace some of the sugar? Any suggestions would be fantastic! Thanks!!

All you can do is try it and see if it works....and then share the recipe with us!!! :)

Honestly speaking... I wouldnt be bothered by the butter so much... but the sugar I would.

You can do equal-parts replacement by using unsweetened applesauce.

Choose a whole-wheat flour that has not been bleached or processed with chemicals.
