Feeling full of the cold and starving

Ok, so I'm not feeling so well, really sore throat and a bit of a cough. Think this could be nasty.
The problem is when I have the cold I am just constantly hungry and for some reason always crave cheese!
Trying really hard to stick to my daily calories just not sure if my body is genuinely telling me I need to eat more because I'm ill or if I should just ignore feeling hungry.
Anyone got any ideas, or even good cold remedies before this gets worse?

It seems the old adage "feed a cold, starve a fever" may actually have some validity....

I have yet to find anything that really does anything more than relieve symptoms. Gargling with salt water helps with the sore throat.
Rest & plenty of fluids.0
