Decent article as he's right on alot of points however those that are even somewhat lean (15% bodyfat or lower) can still do diets that go farther than the 500-1000 calorie or even 20% calorie deficits and still retain probably 95% of their LBM.
As long as they get enough protein in their bodies depending on their current bf% and LBM while lifting heavy even just 3x a week, they can retain MOST of their LBM on short diet periods. (10-12 day diet cycles)0 -

Love this article! Great info! What formula should you use to find out maintence calories? I found 2 different ones and one my base w/o excercise factored in im at 857.5 and the other I found I would be at 1464.7, quite a big difference! I'm 5'3 and 144lbs. Thanks!0
