Hi all!

I did a new class last night at my gym. It's call Butt and Gut. It was a 60 minute workout which included a series of ab workouts and also many... many... many.. squats and lunges! There were about 12 different stations where you did the exercise for a minute each and then switched. Basically there was no break. Between each rotation, we did mountain climbers.

Anyone have an idea how to record this? I did not wear my HRM.

Thanks!! :flowerforyou:

Humm at this point I would just guesstimate...

If you have a HRM I would wear it the next time to get a general idea of your calorie burn...If you do that then you can get a round about number - I would however suggest you periodically wear it from time to time. I had been calculating out my kickboxing classes at about 325 based on wearing my HRM - I wore it last night since I have lost about 12 lbs and have a bit more strength and endurance from the last time I used it and recorded a burn of 400 for the 50 minutes.

If you were working hard and sweating I would say record 400 and just let it go ...it could be you burned 350 it could be you burned 450...but i would say a class like that should easily give at least a 350-450 burn depending on the person and the intensity it is done at

Log it as circuit training? That's what I normally do for classes like that, I think it's a fairly good guess.

the best thing is the HRM...but given the circumstances, I would use circuit training as well as a base.

I suggest if you don't have a HRM to get one. I am so in love with mine since getting it.
