NO self control

I'm freaking out a bit. I gained weight once I left home for school, and it's been months of me trying to lose weight. I have found absolutely NO success. In fact, I've gained. I feel so completely and utterly defeated. I thought if I put my mind to this and wanted it bad enough, I could make it happen. I've found instead, that the more I want it, the more I hate myself when I mess up. I keep saying, this time it will work, this time I will be different, but I literally cannot make it ONE DAY on any kind of diet. I've tried extreme diets, but I've also tried a more relaxed, realistic approach to slooww weight loss, but either way by dinner time that night I've already messed up. I feel like I should just accept that I'm never going to lose weight. I can't even put into words how much I hate myself right now. I feel worthless and my self- esteem is shot to hell. Please please please if you have felt like this in the past, how did you overcome your own issues and lose weight??

Start congratulating yourself for the tiniest wins. Like when you choose low fat cheese, or have water instead of soda pop. Win!
You park a little farther away and walk the steps instead of taking the elevator. Win!
You log all your food for the day. Win!
If you set yourself up to be perfect, you will always fall short.
This doesn't all fall into place at once. You chip away at the bad habits and replace them with good ones. One day, one step at a time.0 -
Just breathe! It's not going to happen over night. I know that people on here will probably freak, but I was in the same situation you are so I know exactly how you feel. I went to a clinic and got b12 with Lipotropic injections. The lipotropic part is supposed to cleanse your liver, and release the fatty deposits and it also is supposed to help jump start your metabolism. I got 2 injections (one every two weeks) and once I had lost 10 pounds, I just started getting the b12 shots alone. Once I saw the number on the scale dropping it made me retain my self control and work harder. Another thing that a nutritionist told me is that for the time being, simply count your carbs, instead of calories. I am allowed 75 carbs a day... and thats it! Sounds like a lot, but when you really add in everything, its not that many! You just have to learn how and what to eat. Try to eat organic....... straight from the ground or out of a tree. Try to eat as much protein as you can.... I have almonds, beef jerky, and protein bars in my desk to snack on at work. EAT EAT EAT!! That's the key!! I started losing weight on 2/27/12 and have lost 17 pounds since. Just don't give up. You can only fight genetics so far (if you have obesity in your family), but don't let it run your life. Be who YOU want to be!0

What works for me probably won't work for you as we are all the sum of our own experiences etc.
I'd like make a suggestion. Does your school have any kind of counseling services? From the sounds of it you're away from home for the first time, away from your regular support channels. Feelings of worthlessness and low self-esteem may be symptomatic of other problems that may be more important to address that your weight right now. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness........0 -
Just wanting to change is the first step...0
