Vermicelli Noodles...

Hello!

I had a small bowl of chicken pho for lunch (but left half of the noodles ... a huge feat for me since that's my favorite part!!) and I'm trying to figure out the calories, etc. I know there are lots of "chicken pho" options in the tracker already, I just want to be sure I'm accurately counting.

Has anyone ever ordered a 'small' bowl to go and actually measured the amount of noodles given? I know one cup of cooked vermicelli noodles is just about 200 calories, and I feel like a typical "small" pho has two cups of cooked noodles or so...but I've never actually measured! Anyone?

Thanks in advance!

Sidenote...I'm new to the site (relatively speaking ... a couple of weeks), so feel free to add me! The more friends the more people I have to answer to!! :-)

  • When I make this at home or when it's served at my parents' house, a typical "small" bowl would have about 2 cups of cooked noodles in it. Haven't measured, but I guess I had the advantage of seeing the portion before the broth was poured over it. Just wanted to let you know that I agree with your eyeballing. :)

pho=my weakness..pretty sure I could that stuff DAILY! I feel like you're safe with that 2 cup guestimate. Our local Pho place seems to serve roughly 2 cups of noodles in the small bowl also:) I think I may have it tomorrow for lunch mmmmmm!
