I'm wondering how to enter a Spinning class (my gym actually calls it 'CycleFit') as exercise in MFP. I see categories for Stationary Bike Light to Very Intense levels. Which do you suggest? The class is 60 minutes long and is pretty tough. Thanks!

Best bet is to wear a heart rate monitor and use the numbers it gives you.

I'm just about your age and can easily burn 600 cal in an hour in my tri club's spinning session.

i do a spin class for 45mins and i wear my hrm. i burn anywhere between 850-1000 cals. depending on how much effort i put into my class. i try to keep my heart rate as high as i can which helps me burn more cals. i love my hrm and would rec. everyone to buy one.

I agree to be accurate on calories burned you need an HRM. An example is spinning depending on the instructor I burn anywhere from 400 - 600 calories in an hour class.

I weara hrm and I usually burn about 450 in a 45 minute class...when I spin on my own I rack up more calories...the hrm is the best way to know!
