I've been doing the Couch to 5k program....

back in February my husband and I went to the local college track and walked - we walked 6 laps (1.5 miles) - I thought I was dying - blamed it on the cold weather....I gradually worked my way up and started jogging 1/4 lap - WHEW that was tough....end of March or early april I felt like Rocky when I jogged/walked 8 laps 1/2 each walk/jogging which equals 4 whole laps jogging equalling a mile....I even threw my arms up as I went across the finish line like Rocky.....

So here's progress.....well i've just finished week 5 of the Couch to 5k Program - I jogged 2 miles without stopping and without breaking with walking in between...when I looked at the program I thought they've got to be crazy to think I can jog 2 miles....it's 2 miles or 20 minutes - my two miles took me 29 minutes but I did it!

Keep working hard - you can do what you set your mind to do!!!!

I totally went through the same experience as you. Totally thought I couldnt do something-broke through that and now I look at my running 30 minutes at ease and cant believe I was so scared. Congrats on all your hard work! Well done!

Great job! I think running is very mental to a certain extent. If you set your mind to it you really can do it and you can go as far as you want eventually!

Way to go!!! I have to agree with Sassie. or I did. I felt the same way until yesterday morning I saw people running by the lake and I looked at my husband and said "Maybe one day I might try that, but don't hold me to it"

At least I started thinking about it!
