Dead battery ...

The battery in my scales died today and due to it being a strange little thing I ordered another online (only £1) to be posted sometime this week. I didn't realise I was so reliant on the scales until I noticed the horror I felt in 1)being unable to weigh myself tomorrow and 2)the lack of knowledge of exactly when I will be able to  . I didn't even realise what a habit I have of weighing myself the same time each morning in the bathroom when I first get up. It would appear that it has recently appeared on the same checklist as brushing my teeth.

I always use the same scales in the same room as the most accurate way to record losses and gains. I wouldn't even bother stepping on a friend's scales because I know how much they can vary.

So I'm now feeling a little bereft over the (hopefully very) temporary absence of one of my weight loss tools and wondering ... is this a common thing? How would my fellow daily weighers feel if they suddenly lost their scales?
