i have been cutting for 3 months and have only lost 3lbs and some inches. i wanted to lose slowly to try and retain as much muscle as possible. but this is crazy. i was gaining 1lb a week on my bulk by eating 2400cals plus some exercise cals. I am now set to 1900 cals plus some exercise cals. i eat about 2050-2100 cals a day (about 1700-1900 net). How the hell do i get rid of this fat and lower my body fat %? right now you cant see all the muscle i have gained(you can feel it) because its covered by fat. should i eat less or what? any advice would be very much apperciated!
i do cardio 3 days a week, heavy lifting(full body) 3 days a week and some easy walks or bike rides as well. I am 25yrs old, 5'7 and weigh 146.4lbs

If you were gaining 1 lb/week at 2400, wouldn't 1900 put you at maintenance?
If you're doing 1700-1900, assuming an average of 1800 that's 1 lb every 5 weeks ... seems about right.0 -
^^^ this! She's right0

I just read a post on here last night about how LONG it takes for petite and/or small women to drop pounds without dropping muscle.
he was saying up to 6 mos for a 120 lb. woman to lose even 1-2 lbs. fat.
I have the same issues.
BUT, you look fantastic anyway . . . .0 -

Really??! Arrgh. Good to know when I start my cut.
But OP you do look great!!! Amazing actually. Your cut amount sounds perfect. It will probably just take more time. I don't know your routine but maybe throw in some more cardio intervals?0 -

agree with this.
So options are up the cardio/NEAT a bit to create you're deficit or eat a bit less. Personal preference but I like to eat so I prefer to up my activity a bit generally.0 -

Of course that 120lb woman could be 4'6" or 6' also0 -

ugh, sorry, I don't know where it was. I was searching through old posts; it was probably somewhere in the NROL4W or Women and Lifting group threads.0 -

I've seen pix of the real you, and you are lovely! NOT covered in fat!!:happy:0 -
well thank you. i am just so confused anymore. i tried bulking because i thought that was what was needed to build the muscle i needed but now nothing fits and i just feel fat. i have been cutting for 3months and have only lost 3lbs. my boyfriend says he thinks i am eating too many calories and should lower it back to what i was eating before bulking. but through what i have learned i do not think this is the answer. before i was eating 1480 calories and mainly just walking at a high incline on the treadmill. while that may help lose weight i will inevitably lose muscle too by doing this. so i am unsure as to what to do. do i lower cals again? stick with it and hope it comes off? i dont think i can workout anymore than i do. i just want to be toned and look good and fit into my clothes :sad:0

Yeah, why not increase activity by 100 or decrease food by 100? You don't need to make drastic changes imho when things are overall going well but a bit slowly.0 -
i have already cut 100 cals (went from 2000 to 1900) i dont feel like i can workout anymore than i do.0

I am actually doing this too.. maintenance @ 2300 and then trying for a cut in a few months @ 1850. I'm interested to hear about your progress!0

Increase NEAT in addition to the 100 cal cut from diet.
EDIT: As ChrisDavey mentioned above.
EDIT #2: HOLY *kitten* ITS A TALKING BABY!0
