Does working out on the elliptical make you get a bigger and more muscular butt or can it make it shrink? Can it make the muscles stronger and raised so your butt looks higher?
I am worried that it will make it shrink too much. Also, since I have been using it for a year, my butt is slightly lopsided now. What can I do to fix the lopsided butt or what can I do on the elliptical to fix it?

I don't think Elliptical trainer shrinks your butt in fact it tones all the muscles in your glutes and all the lower body muscles + arms as well if you uses the handles.
Only thing is the posture which is VERY important while using the ET I have seen many people just hop on the machine and start working out on their front part of heel (lifting the heel every time you push the pedal) which is completely wrong posture.
Here is the Tip for toned and a sexy butt!
While exercising on the elliptical will automatically work your glutes, one way to increase your gluteal muscle activation is to pull your hips slightly backward, according to "Women's Health." Your buttocks may feel as if it is sticking out, but this will help to activate the muscles. Push your heels down as much as possible in order to increase tension in the buttocks.

thank you so much for the awesome advice and links!
The toes info is good because I used to feel like the front of my feet always hurt, but lately I have been trying to keep my back straight and my feet down so that my toes don't hurt and so my back won't hurt. I have been experimenting with the settings to see what muscles I feel being worked.
My butt was big when I started haha and then it got more toned through out the year. I just noticed one side is bigger than the other now...and it must be how I was standing.
I will pay more attention to my feet in case one is coming up and the other isn't...also I will try to lean back. My friend said it is important to suck in your stomach too (she is a pilates instructor) because if your stomach pops out and you don't notice, you can actually build the muscles outward. =( Should I put the elliptical setting on the full body work out like all muscles if I want them all toned or does it make you tone your butt even more if you put it on the butt only setting?0 -
